Here's a fun poem that's easy to write using similes. This kind of poem works well for younger children if they add one or two words on each line...such as an adjective and then a noun. But for older children, they could include a prepositional phrase such as ....."My brother is like an animal when he eats."
Take a look at the sample one first....see below. Then give the other one a try. You can always recreate this poem so it says, "My Big Brother", or "My Big Sister", or "My Little Sister". Feel free to comment if this page worked for your child(ren). Have fun writing!
