Have you heard of Readworks.org yet?
If not you should check it out. I have used so many of their resources in the last couple of years for my ELA lessons. I love how you can sort and filter the lessons or topics AND grade levels you are looking for. The big plus for this FREE online resource (besides being FREE), is that it is Common Core aligned. Each passage includes a lexile count (to determine which text is more suitable for your kids' reading abilities). You should also check out the full unit lesson plans that help you plan in depth for multiple lessons.
Teaching the social sciences? History, geography, science...?
This site has informational texts that can be integrated with other subject areas.
(Now, if they create one for math, too...that would be something!)
Believe it or not, this is not an ad...and I don't get any gain from it, other than the fact that I want to share this great site with other educators. I just feel like more teachers should know about it AND use it!
While some say the graphics are not that remarkable---keep in mind that you can always supplement any of the lessons with your own visual aids. But you will have a lesson that has grit and rigor which all of us are striving for in order to help our students succeed.
